Anglican Parish of Lantz

Christian Education is a vital part of our parish life.  Sunday School for children aged 2-10, Life in the Eucharist for grades 2-6, and adult education programs such as Education for Ministry, Logos and weekly Bible Study groups foster an environment of Christian Formation.  For more information, call the parish office (883-2898).

We host many special events in the Parish of Lantz.  Some are for fun, some are for fund-raising, some are for worship.  We like to include many individuals and community members.  Recent events include the "Fund-RAZOR" where David was shorn and shaved after reaching a financial mile-stone; and the Blessing of Animals, where we offered thanks for the gifts of creation symbolized by our pets, and the spring Lobster take-out--a tasty treat that we try to schedule for Fathers' Day weekend.

On the night of September 28, 2003 HURRICANE JUAN passed through Lantz and Dutch Settlement. Of the thirteen trees around the rectory, only one remains. Photographs show the toppled trees, and our thanks go out to Ledwidge Lumber for helping out with the clean-up. On a subsequent radio show, a caller was complaining that not enough notice was given about the hurricane -- the response was, "You had three days notice that Juan was going to come ashore in Nova Scotia. They don't call them "hurricanes" for nothing."
